Down south autumn is particularly pretty as the trees start turning with their yellow and red leaves. Mind you they are not native trees, just introduced, this puts a bit of a damper on things |

However the landscape around the Southern lakes, in this case Tekapo, is quite stunning, and only faintly grasped in the photo's |

We entered Queenstaown on a sunny autumn day, and overnight found ourselves in a storm, the result was the first fall of snow in the region. Fantastic. |

Being naturally stupid we climbed a local mountian into the snow. |

Later we drove to the Matukituki valley, with spectacular views to Mt Aspiring and glaciers |

After a 2 hour tramp up a beautiful valley we stayed at this pictureesque hut surrounded by glaciers and snow.
Unfortunatly snow doesn't show very well in digital photo's. |

After climbing a side valley we ended up at the Rob Glacier, creaking and groaning above us. Pity the glacier has not photographed up well too bright for the camera. In realirty its majestic. |
