Harpers Valley
We walked for about 3 hours up this isolated valley, with high mountains on each side. |
The peaks still had snow |
More snow, its early summer so its the last of the winder show. |
We turned up a small side valley, note the red lichen on the rocks |
Pretty soon we were in the forest floowing a small unformed track |
Nice semi mature trees |
Eventually after an hour in the forest we popped out up high at the lake. Totally isolated, a great camping site |
More lake, we drank the water it was great, fresh and clear, despite the dark debris on the bottom of the lake |
Nice pic across the lake, great for camping. |
Back down the valley's and out, |
Arthurs pass village, a great little place in the middle of the mountains |
Beate and her $1.70 icecream, and it was fantastic after the trip. |
